Ad for Grand Re-Opening of Badia's Club in Giza City
May 17, 1931

Translated By Priscilla Adum

This is a translation of an advertisement that Badia Masabni placed in the newspaper to promote her newly-remodeled entertainment complex Casina Badia in Giza City. Following the remodeling, Badia's venue included a movie theater named Cinema Badia; a formal theater presenting plays, dance, and comedy monologues named Theater Badia; and a nightclub which served food and drinks named Cabaret Badia. This advertisement appeared in Al Ahram on Sunday, May 17, 1931.

Although the advertisement below announced the opening would be June 1, 1931, the club actually opened one day earlier, on May 31st.
