Dancing in darkness with all my secret selves,
the music low.
Lights through the windows.
Nightlights for fearful creature man.
My sisters and I in our one shared body
tease the light
flirt with it
allowing a caress on muscled arm
across nipple, down thigh
but mostly we dance
in the dark
for ourselves.© 2000 by Gaia Wildmane, all rights reserved.
This beautiful artwork was created by Lee Seaver-Lacey. She spent her formative years never knowing what state she was in that week, so she spent most of her time in her imagination. Her natural habitat is woodland and river banks. Her alter ego, Gaia Wildmane, is a lot more attached to reality than she used to be, although she still talks to herself and gestures while walking. Gaia plays in Medieval re-enactment groups and explores Middle Eastern dance. Influenced by the really old-fashioned fairy tales and her conversations with trees, fascinated with archetypes, forces of nature, and dancing naked by moonlight, Lee/Gaia often lets her art flow where it will and figures out what it means later. She almost plays a variety of instruments, and plans to learn to almost play the bagpipes someday. Commissions considered. Her artwork, My Green Leaf Gown, also appears on this web site.
