Belly Dance Tip:
Finishing an Extended Leg Pose

---------------

Extended Leg Pose

When you practice an extended leg pose, look at yourself in the mirror and practice putting your heel behind the line of your leg instead of above or below it.

You may think that it doesn't really matter because very little of your audience is directly in front of you, but that is incorrect....

Your audience lives in a three dimensional world and most of them automatically (and unconsciously) imagine you in all three dimensions.

They usually "see" the front presentation even if they are behind you.

The "Meh" pose in the upper photo shows the angle that is less attractive. The "Good" bottom photo shows what to aim for.

Take the time to make the best line you can in each transitional position or actual pose.

Your mileage may vary, but your audience sees where you are going better than you imagine.

NOTE: These photos to illustrate the point were taken after a really hard 2-hour practice session. I am sweaty and wiped out, but I tried to change nothing but the extended leg. And I had a dumb look on my face in the first picture so I kept itĀ for the second.
