Introduction

This is one of two different advertisements that promoted the June 8, 1933 show at Soad Mahasen's summer sala at the beach in Alexandria, Egypt.

Soad Mahasen was the woman who took in Taheya Carioca when Taheya ran away from home as a teenager. Soad protected her and looked after her until she decided to close her club and retire to Lebanon, at which point she put Taheya Carioca into Badia Masabni's care.
