Lyrics

Turkish Lyrics

English Translation

Genç yaşımda yıktı beni kederler Sorrows have made me collapse at my young age.
Kendi kaderime sitemkâr oldum I've become reproachful to my own destiny.
Ağlayan sonunda güler dediler They said, "He who cried, will laugh in the end."
Ömrümce gülmedim isyankâr oldum I have never laughed, I became rebellious.

Sevgilim akıttı hep gözyaşımı My lover always made me shed tears.
Dağlara taşlara vurdum başımı I've banged my head on mountains, on the rocks
Ölmeden diktirdim mezar taşımı My tombstone was erected before I was dead.
Sonunda sevmeye tövbekâr oldum In the end, I regret that I loved.

Anladım hayatın bütünü rüya I realized that overall life is a dream.
Dostluklar yalanmış sevgiler riya Friendships are a lie, love is a hypocrisy.
Kızdım getirene beni dünyaya I was angry at those who brought me into the world —
Anama babama isyankâr oldum I rebelled against my mother and father.
