About this Song

Samira Said represented Morocco with this song in the April 1980 Eurovision competition, where she placed 18th.

It is common in the Middle East for popular songs to be released in more than one language. Record companies do business in more than one country, and when they achieve a hit song in one place, they work with lyricists and artists to create versions in other languages to release elsewhere.

The original song was created with Arabic lyrics by a Moroccan composer and lyricist duo. A version with Greek lyrics named "Tosi Kardia, Tosi Agapi" was released later in the year by Filippos Nikolaou.
