Lyrics

Arabic Lyrics

English Translation

Talaa min beit abouha, From her father's house
Reyha al beit al jeeran She was going to her neighbor's house.
Fat ma salam aalyha She passed me without even saying hello.
Yim kin il helu zaalan Maybe the pretty woman is angry with me.

Gult la hilwa ruwini, aatshan maya skini I told her, "Sweet one, quench my thirst, I am thirsty, give me water to drink."
Galat li ruh ya maskin, al maya tirwi al aatshan She told me, "Go away you poor thing, our water would not satisfy your thirst."

Talaa min beit abouha, From her father's house
Reyha al beit al jeeran She was going to her neighbor's house.
Labs al ahmar wal acthar Wearing red and green
Wa aayouna aayoun al ghizlan And her eyes are those of a gazelle.

Gult la hilwa ruwini, aala tulik fargini I told her, "Sweet one, quench my thirst, let me see your figure."
Galat li ruh ya maskini, ya tuli mibaad rihan She told me, "Go away, you poor thing, my figure is like that of a stem of basil."
