English Translation

Ana laka, ana laka, raydaka, raydaka. I am for you, I am for you, I want you, want you.
Ana laka, ana laka, raydaka, raydaka. I am for you, I am for you, I want you, want you.

Waladah, waladah, ana goult ana galbi lidah. Not this one, not this one, I said my heart is for this one.
Waladah, waladah, ana goult ana a'omri lidah. Not this one, not this one, I said my life is for this one.
Waladah, waladah, inta illi algalbi hawaka, wana, wana, wana. Not this one, not this one. You are the one that my heart loves you, and I, and I, and I.

Ana ana laka, ana laka, raydaka, iw-raydaka. I am, I am for you, I am for you, I want you, and want you.
Ana ana laka, ana laka, raydaka, iw-raydaka. I am, I am for you, I am for you, and I want you, and want you.

Wallah in jabooli almaaz wi yakout, wallah ma astaghna a'an hobak laou amoot. I swear by God if they brought me jewelry and sapphires, I could not leave your love even if I die.
Wallah in jabooli almaaz wi yakout, wallah ma astaghna a'an hobak laou amoot. I swear by God if they brought me jewelry and sapphires, I could not leave your love even if I die.

Inta habeeb ilaalb ya wad, inta, inta naseeb ilgalbi yawad. You are my heart's love o' guy. You, you are the heart's destiny o' guy.
Inta habeeb ilaalb ya wad, inta, inta naseeb ilgalbi yawad. You are my heart's love o' guy. You, you are the heart's destiny o' guy.

We inta illi a'omri ma haansaaka And you are the one who I will not forget all my life.
Ana laka, iw- raydaka, raydaka. I am for you and want you, want you.
Ana laka, ana raydaka. I am for you, I want you.

Wallah in hajirti, safirti iba'eid wala tomri min baa'dak wal dheik. I swear by god, if you leave the country and travel far away, days will pass with heart collapse.
Wallah in hajirti, safirti iba'eid wala tomri min baa'dak wal dheik. I swear by god, if you leave the country and travel far away, days will pass with heart collapse.

Inta ildarsi ila'omr ya wad, ana linihayet ila'omri ya wad. You are the class for my heart o' guy, I am to end of my life o' guy.
Da-inta ildarsi ila'omr ya wad, wa ana linihayet ila'omri ya wad. You are the class for my heart o' guy, I am to end of my life o' guy.
Laou meet sanah ana hastannaka. If it is one hundred years, I will wait for you.

Ana laka, ana raydaka. I am for you, I want you.
Ana laka, ana laka, iw-raydaka, raydaka. I am for you, I am for you, and want you, want you.

Waladah, waladah, ana goult ana galbi lidah. Not this one, not this one, I said my heart is for this one.
Waladah, wala, wala dah, ana golt ana a'omri lidah. Not this one, not this one, I said my life is for this one.
Waladah, waladah, inta illi ilgalbi hawaka, wana, wana, wana. Not this one, not this one, you are the one that my heart loves you, and I, and I, and I.

Ana laka, ana laka, I am for you, I am for you.
Raydaka, raydaka. I want you, want you.
Ana laka, ana raydaka. I am for you, I want you.

About the Translator

More than 80 song translations that appear on this web site, including this one, were created by Tahseen Alkoudsi. Together with his wife Kathe, Tahseen owned an import business in Lawrence, Kansas known as Cartouche.

Sadly, Tahseen died on Sunday, October 15, 2006. See this link for his obituary.

To me, Tahseen was so much more than a contributor to my web site. Even though we lived far apart, I saw Tahseen and Kathe several times over the years. I always appreciated their warmth and generosity. I first "met" Tahseen online back in 1997 on the med-dance list on the Internet, where he periodically posted messages. I knew he was in Lawrence, Kansas, so when a business trip arose requiring me to travel to the Kansas City area, I emailed him to say I'd be in the neighborhood. He and Kathe came to Kansas City for an evening get-together at Tasso's restaurant, and they invited several local dancers to join us. I saw them on follow-up visits to Kansas City. They vended at Rakkasah for several years, and it was always a pleasure to greet them there in the anteroom off to the left of the main stage. I also enjoyed encountering them in Egypt at the Ahlan wa Sahlan festival.

Tahseen will be missed by many.

Tahseen Alkoudsi
